Deputy Governor of Monsha’at Participates in the Global Entrepreneurship Conference Held in Melbourne, Australia

Deputy Governor of the General Authority for Small and Medium Enterprises “Monsha’at” for entrepreneurship, Saud bin Khalid Al-Sabhan, participated in the closing session of the first day of the Global Entrepreneurship Conference (GEC) in Melbourne, Australia, in line  with an elite group of specialists in the field of entrepreneurship, including the founder and president of the network. The Global Entrepreneurship (GEN) Jonathan Ortmans: to discuss entrepreneurs' challenges and how to address them. During his participation in the “Change Your World: A Look to the Future” session, Al-Sabhan explained that SMEs are among the main drivers of the local economy, pointing out the importance of involving them to support the labor market. Intending to achieve the goals more effectively, he also talked about the contribution of startups and SMEs to innovation and their role in changing their concept to become compatible with commercial activities and effectively supporting their expansion in entrepreneurship. Al-Sabhan also stressed the importance of cooperation with local and international partners from government and private agencies to provide the opportunity for SMEs to work in an integrated manner in all fields, to solve all challenges, and develop the reality of the field of entrepreneurship faster and more effectively, citing the cooperation witnessed by the Global Entrepreneurship Conference in its previous edition, which was held in Riyadh, between all countries and companies present in their various specialization, which contributed to coming up with a set of solutions and results that were reflected in a significant way  creating a positive development of the entrepreneurship environment. The sessions held at the conference aim to invite all decision makers and those responsible for the programs of the Global Entrepreneurship Network from all countries to participate in the conversation, present specialized and extensive ideas on the conference’s closing day, and review recommendations and decisions based on business models designed to suit the environmental systems of each country. Notably, the Kingdom is participating in the conference activities under the umbrella of the Secretariat General of the Gulf Cooperation Council in Melbourne, Australia, from September 19 to 22, in the presence of several government agencies and Saudi entrepreneurs. “Monsha’at” heads the Kingdom’s delegation, aiming to strengthen its positions as a global destination in supporting SMEs.
