The Small and Medium Enterprises General Authority “Monsha’at” concluded the Ebtker Award ceremony by crowning the winners of the 2021 edition at the Thakaa Center in Riyadh. The award aims to spread the culture of innovation and enable innovative SMEs to reach investors and supporting entities in the innovation ecosystem. During the ceremony, the innovative enterprises delivered their final pitches before the judging panel to evaluate and select the winners in the small and micro enterprises track: the iBot app won first place with a prize of SAR 150,000, Shaizer won second place with a prize of SAR 100,000, and the Ad Astra platform took third place with a prize of SAR 50,000. In the medium enterprises track, Rod Refrigerated Transport Company, the Hawsabah platform, and Silat Company were honored, with each receiving the title of best innovative medium enterprise in the Kingdom. Monsha’at will work to showcase the best innovative enterprises locally and globally, contributing to injecting more innovative projects into the national economy to achieve sustainable development. Monsha’at had launched the award in October of this year, when the best 30 innovative enterprises were selected by a specialized judging panel for inclusion in the Innovative Growth Program, through an intensive training camp that ran for five consecutive days, to enable the entrepreneurs who own innovative enterprises to obtain consultation, guidance sessions, and workshops from experts specialized in several different fields, in addition to expanding their network of relationships in the innovation ecosystem. Monsha’at continued to support and enable all the innovative enterprises that qualified for the final stage by nominating them to join the programs offered by the Ebtker Award’s knowledge partner, King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST), in addition to enrolling them in the Tomoh Program for fast-growing enterprises, Thakaa Pioneers, and the Billion-Riyal Enterprises program, connecting them with incubators and accelerators, and facilitating their access to investors. Monsha’at continuously works to provide programs that strengthen initiative and innovation, spread the culture of self-employment, and strengthen entrepreneurial work, in order to reach a stimulating entrepreneurial environment across the Kingdom.
