28.9 Billion Riyals, the Proceeds of Agreements and Launches on the Second Day of the Global Entrepreneurship Conference

The Global Entrepreneurship Conference, during the second day witnessed agreements and launches with a total value of 28.9 billion riyals ($7.71 billion),  to support entrepreneurship in various fields and fostering the Kingdom’s position as an attractive environment for pioneers, innovators, and creators worldwide. In cooperation with The Global Entrepreneurship Network,  under the theme of “We Reinvent, We Renew,” the conference, organized by “Monsha’at,” The General Authority for Small and Medium Enterprises, witnessed the signing of more than 21 agreements and the launch of many investment initiatives. “Monsha’at,”  struck a memorandum of understanding with Amazon to allow local businesses to list their goods on the Amazon Saudi Arabia store and sell to millions of consumers throughout the Kingdom.  As part of the memorandum of understanding, Amazon will support SMEs with the logistical capabilities, tools, and programs that Amazon provides to sellers. The launches included the Small and Medium Enterprises Bank announcing the approved budget to finance the SMEs sector, which amounted to 12 billion riyals ($3.2 billion). “Monsha’at,” signed a cooperation agreement with Al Rajhi Bank worth 2 billion riyals (more than $533 million), to launch programs and innovative financing products. Additionally, the Arab National Bank inked a number of cooperation agreements, including  agreement to launch innovative financing programs and products, worth up to one billion riyals (more than $293 million), and the launch of a credit card product for SMEs with an amount of up to 50 million riyals ($13 million). In addition to that, the  Ministry of Investment  announced a group of investments and licensing. For many international companies to enter the Saudi market with assets estimated at approximately 3.51 billion riyals (more than $936 million). The second day as well included announcing the total value of innovative financing programs from banks, which amounted to more than 7.3 billion riyals ($2 billion) for the coming five years. The National Bank of Saudi Arabia signed a cooperation agreement for innovative programs and financing products worth up to one billion riyals (more than $266 million), and cooperation agreement to support the innovation program worth 2.7 million riyals ($720,000). Bank Al Bilad signed an agreement with “Monsha’at” to provide innovative financing programs and products worth approximately 2 billion riyals ($520 million). Thiqah Company signed a cooperation agreement with “Monsha’at”  to provide services to SMEs. The Saudi Authority for Auditors and Accountants signed an agreement to raise awareness, provide professional guidance in accounting and auditing, and launching  the “Itkal” platform. The second day witnessed the signing of a memorandum of understanding as well between the Ministry of Investment and the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority to empower entrepreneurs and SMEs. The Saudi Tourism Authority signed an agreement with “Monsha’at” To cooperate in several initiatives supporting enterprises within the tourism field. The Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz Development Fund also signed a cooperation agreement to launch a business accelerator in the Eastern Province and provide training programs and workshops through the Monsha’at  Academy.
