The Government Cost Calculator includes two calculators: the Government Fees Calculator and the Break-even Point Calculator

The service’s methodology calculates initial establishment fees for the following entities: the Ministry of Commerce, the Chamber of Commerce, the Saudi Post, the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development, the General Organization for Social Insurance, the Ministry of Municipal, Rural Affairs, and Housing, and the fees of private platforms. It also assists the entrepreneur in calculating additional fees for activity licenses

The calculator operates in two ways:
For a single product: Fixed costs / (product price – variable costs) = the number of products that need to be sold to reach the break-even point
For multiple products: The calculator uses arithmetic calculations to determine the break-even point for the entire project based on the estimated sales numbers and product prices

The break-even point is the point at which the total revenue equals its total costs (Fixed and variable). This means that the business is neither making a profit nor incurring a loss. By calculating the break-even point, one can determine the minimum number of units that need to be produced and sold to cover the costs of the enterprise

Fixed costs are expenses that do not vary with the size of production and must be paid regardless of whether or not the enterprise makes any sales. Examples of fixed costs include employee salaries and building rent.
Variable costs are expenses that change in proportion to product type, production size, or sales volume. They rise and fall as these factors change. Examples include raw materials and product packaging.

The accuracy of break-even point calculations depends on three main factors for commercial and industrial processes: unit selling price, variable costs, and fixed costs. The closer you get to the real number, the more accurate you are at determining the break-even point. The calculator provides an estimate of the break-even point, as it is difficult to predict variable and fixed costs with 100% accuracy before the start of the project
