"Monsha’at" Celebrates Graduation of Second Batch of the University Startups Capacity Development Program

The General Authority of Small and Medium Enterprises "Monsha’at" celebrated the graduation of the second batch of the University Startups Capacity Development Program at King Faisal University in Al-Ahsa.
The event was attended by the University President, Dr. Mohammed bin Abdulaziz Al-Awahli, and the Deputy Governor for Entrepreneurship Sector at Monsha’at, Saud bin Saud Al-Sabhan.
The University President warmly welcomed the distinguished attendees and participants in the various incubation projects, emphasizing the importance of training, guidance, and providing necessary consultations to help incubated projects in transforming their innovative ideas into viable entrepreneurial ventures. He further added that the six-month incubation program serves as an empowering platform for innovators and startups to hone their skills and refine their talents, with financial and logistical support at their disposal.
During his speech at the ceremony, the Deputy Governor highlighted that approximately 25 projects have been converted into commercial entities as part of the efforts provided by Monsha’at to support the university entrepreneurship ecosystem.
These initiatives have benefited over 72,000 university entrepreneurs and have contributed to a 267% increase in the revenue growth rate of university startups. Furthermore, the investment rate in university companies has reached 30%.
The event featured the presentation of 25 university projects, with the active participation of investors, financial institutions, and service providers dedicated to advancing the participating projects. The program launched by Monsha’at aims to provide support for university projects, empower them to enhance their capabilities, expand their growth, and facilitate their transformation into startups. In addition, it aims to promote an entrepreneurial culture among students and within the university community.
The program strives to cultivate an entrepreneurial and freelance culture among university students by providing a comprehensive range of services throughout the various stages of the program. It operates through three university incubators located in Riyadh, Al-Qassim, and Al-Ahsa.
The program offers a variety of programs and services to early-stage startups and owners of prototype models with the goal of supporting and developing them into successful companies over a six-month incubation period for each incubator. This support includes workshops, mentoring and advisory sessions, as well as opportunities to connect with investors and financing institutions. Additionally, the program organizes enriching meetings with accomplished entrepreneurs, experts, and investors.
