"Monsha’at" Concludes Financing Week by Discussing Financing Opportunities and Solutions for Entrepreneurs

The Small and Medium Enterprises General Authority "Monsha’at," concluded the Financing Week in partnership with Saudi banks at the SMEs Support Centers in the cities of Riyadh, Madinah, Jeddah, and Al-Khobar, with the participation of various government and private entities in the field of lending and investment financing. Troughout the week, a series of agreements and memorandums of understanding were signed between Monsha’at and a group of financing entities and specialized companies.

The Financing Week activities focused on highlighting the main challenges faced by entrepreneurs and micro, small, and medium enterprises, as well as the financing solutions available to support and develop their entrepreneurial projects, through support councils that hosted a group of experts in the field of financing the small and medium enterprises sector, including the acting CEO of the Small and Medium Enterprises Bank, Abdulrahman  The Small and Medium Enterprises General Authority "Monsha’at," concluded the Financing Week in partnership with Saudi banks at the SMEs Support Centers in the cities of Riyadh, Madinah, Jeddah, and Al-Khobar, with the participation of various government and private entities in the field of lending and investment financing. Troughout the week, a series of agreements and memorandums of understanding were signed between Monsha’at and a group of financing entities and specialized companies.

The Financing Week activities focused on highlighting the main challenges faced by entrepreneurs and micro, small, and medium enterprises, as well as the financing solutions available to support and develop their entrepreneurial projects, through support councils that hosted a group of experts in the field of financing the small and medium enterprises sector, including the acting CEO of the Small and Medium Enterprises Bank, Abdulrahman bin Mansour, the CEO of the Social Development Bank, Engineer Sultan Al-Hamidi, and the CEO of the Small and Medium Enterprises Loan Guarantee Program "Kafalah", Homam Hashem. During the Financing Week, 47 meetings and workshops were held, in addition to the participation of 43 financing entities in the week's events. The number of registrants for the week's activities exceeded 3,500 beneficiaries, including entrepreneurs and owners of small and medium enterprises. The Financing Week also witnessed several agreements with companies and financing entities, with the aim of providing comprehensive financing solutions and facilities for the growth and expansion of their projects.

The acting CEO of the Small and Medium Enterprises Bank, during his speech at the SMEs Support Council held in conjunction with the Financing Week, indicated that the volume of credit facilities provided to small and medium enterprises in 2023 reached approximately 275 billion Saudi Riyals, in addition to the financing portfolio of the Small and Medium Enterprises Bank reaching more than 1 billion Saudi Riyals during the past period, where approximately 850 enterprises were financed. The CEO of the Social Development Bank, in his speech at the SMEs Support Council, noted that the support provided by the bank to small and emerging enterprises has contributed to increasing their contribution to the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) from 20% to 29% within two years. Additionally, the volume of financing granted by the Social Development Bank to small and medium enterprises (SMEs) reached 20 billion Saudi Riyals. The CEO of the Small and Medium Enterprises Loan Guarantee Program "Kafalah" mentioned that the program has contributed around 96 billion Riyals in guarantees granted to beneficiary SMEs since 2006. This has positively impacted the GDP, with a contribution of 2.8 billion Riyals in the base year 2019, and an annual growth rate of no less than 20%. The program also offers a one-third discount on fees for businesswomen who own 50% of an enterprise when applying for support for their entrepreneurial projects.

"Monsha'at" (the Small and Medium Enterprises General Authority) continues to play a supportive role in opening up opportunities for small and medium enterprises through the organization of specialized weeks. This is done in collaboration with all partners to provide opportunities for entrepreneurs, which will contribute to achieving the growth objectives of SMEs, ensuring their sustainability and growth.
