Mr. Abdulrahman Al-Samari, the CEO of the Local Content and Government Procurement Authority, has confirmed that government tender awards in the past year amounted to approximately 114 billion Saudi riyals. Small and medium enterprises (SMEs) claimed a 19% share of this sum,
totaling around 22 billion Saudi riyals.
During his speech at the Entrepreneurs Support Council organized by Monsha’at, Mr. Abdulrahman Al-Samari highlighted the efforts and initiatives provided by the Local Content and Government Procurement Authority to support entrepreneurs, in line with the comprehensive government work to support this vital sector and increase its contribution to the local economy.
He further elaborated that the authority has supported small and medium enterprises with a set of programs, including exemptions from certain requirements, aiming to enable them and overcome any obstacles they may face. He added that the authority intends to continue its collaborative work with Monsha’at to enhance the access of entrepreneurs and owners of small and medium enterprises to government procurement opportunities.
Monsha’at organized the Growth Week as part of a series of Business Weeks held from August 27th to 31st. This event, conducted in collaboration with various government entities and sectors dedicated to enterprise growth, featured notable participants, including Silicon Valley Innovation Center in the United States. The event's objective
was to support the rapid growth of enterprises in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
