Monsha’at has announced the winners of the “Smart and Green Buildings Challenge”, a competition launched in collaboration with the National Housing Company. The objective of this challenge is to find and present innovative solutions and technological products to address the challenges faced by beneficiaries within the Kingdom. These challenges pertain to the implementation and integration of modern, sustainable services in both residential and non-residential buildings. Ultimately, this initiative seeks to enhance the quality of life and the environment.
This challenge marks the second in a series of challenges under the Real Estate Innovation Program, designed to discover the untapped potential in this vital sector.
The winners of the "Smart and Green Buildings Challenge" were selected based on their success in several qualifying rounds and their participation in an intensive training camp to prepare them for the final stage of the competition. The final judging panel evaluated 32 projects out of over 180 submissions to select the top three winners. "Amaar" company secured the first place with a prize of 50,000 SAR, while "Optimal BV" earned the second place with a prize of 30,000 SAR. "Elmam" received the third place prize of 20,000 SAR.
The competition is divided into several tracks. The first track, "Internet of Things (IoT)," focuses on IoT solutions and technologies designed to enable and facilitate automated services inside and outside buildings. The second track, "Efficiency and Sustainability," is dedicated to finding solutions that promote sustainable consumption practices and provide cost-effective, environmentally-friendly building management.
Moreover, the winners had the opportunity to work with top trainers and specialists in the real estate sector. They also presented their projects to a judging panel consisting of experts and investors in the field. In addition, they have qualified to participate in the Real Estate Innovation Accelerator, which is part of a set of programs offered by Monsha’at to innovators and entrepreneurs for the development of the real estate sector.
