Yesterday, the Small and Medium Enterprises General Authority (Monsha’at) launched the activities of Innovation Week 2023 at the Thakaa Center, under the auspices of the Research, Development, and Innovation Authority, with the participation of more than 30 entities from the public and private sectors.
The week's events include workshops and success stories presented by various innovative enterprises, as well as panel discussions on market opportunities in Saudi Arabia, delivered by specialized local companies. Additionally, individual advisory sessions will be provided by government entities for entrepreneurs in different sectors.
Innovation Week is dedicated to all areas of commercial innovation and revolves around the four national priorities for research, development, and innovation in science and technology. These priorities include innovations in human health, sustainability, energy, and industry, as well as future economic innovations such as artificial intelligence (AI), the Internet of Things (IoT), smart cities, space innovations, drones, and robotics. The week also highlights two emerging fields of commercial innovation: innovation in culture and innovation in business models and patterns.
This project focuses on building sustainable working relationships between innovators, small and medium-sized innovative enterprises, and public, private, and non-profit entities across the Kingdom. These entities are capable of providing services and supportive opportunities for innovation, thereby accelerating the pace of local commercial innovations.
Monsha’at organizes Innovation Week annually as part of its project to activate the National Commercial Innovation System, which was launched in September 2020.
