Monsha’at Concludes Education Week Activities Discussing the Most Promising Investment Opportunities in the Education Sector

The General Authority for Small and Medium Enterprises “Monsha’at” concluded the Education Week activities organized in collaboration with the Ministry of Education. The event involved the participation of His Excellency the Minister, Mr. Youssef Al-Benyan, along with educational leaders, relevant entities in the education system, as well as entrepreneurs and business owners. The purpose of the event was to facilitate communication, foster relationships, and enhance awareness among enterprises, entrepreneurs, and owners of small and medium enterprises. The aim was to introduce them to promising investment opportunities within the education sector.


During the sessions held in Riyadh to support enterprises, Mohammed Al-Shuaier, the Deputy Director-General for Qualification and Licensing at the National Center for E-Learning, discussed the significant advancements witnessed in the e-learning sector after the COVID-19 pandemic, along with the increased awareness of the importance of e-learning among students, parents, and education sector employees. Al-Shuwaier also highlighted how technology has enabled investors and entrepreneurs to quickly adapt and meet the needs of learners.

During a dialogue session, Abdullah Al-Kathiri, the Assistant Deputy Governor for Support Services at the Technical and Vocational Training Corporation, discussed the initiatives launched by the corporation to support entrepreneurs. He also highlighted the key areas available for investment in the private training sector.

Furthermore, Iyad Al-Qaraawi, the Advisor and General Supervisor of the Private Education and Investment Committee in the Eastern Region, explained that the Ministry's policies aim to facilitate investment in the education sector and maintain communication with investors through the Advisory Council. He also mentioned that the Ministry is working on an investment strategy to provide diverse opportunities for the private sector.

Dr. Sami Al-Otaibi, the Director-General of Education in the Eastern Province, stated during the session that the investment opportunities in the Eastern Province are highly diverse, with over half a million students in the region. The number of students in private schools reached 146,000, providing a fertile environment for investment opportunities, whether in private schools or government-owned lands under the Ministry of Education.
Nasser Al-Abdulkarim, the Director-General of Education in Al Madinah Region, affirmed the importance of investing in the education sector, highlighting the wide-ranging investment opportunities in educational services that continue to attract investors. He acknowledged the support of the region's governor and all entities that support and encourage investment in the education sector, working towards overcoming challenges faced by investors.

Abdulrahman Al-Hajri, the General Supervisor of Investment and Licensing at the Ministry of Education, mentioned that the General Investment and Allocation Administration team at the ministry serves as a link between the ministry, the private sector, and other relevant government entities involved in education sector investments. He explained that the Kingdom aims to enroll children in kindergartens by 30% by the end of the current year, with the percentage reaching 90% by 2030.

Fahd Al-Imam, the Executive Director of Taibah City for Special Education, discussed the challenges faced by entrepreneurs in the education sector, particularly in finding qualified human resources to contribute to delivering outstanding services. He also mentioned the difficulties in managing facilities due to the limited administrative experience in operating special needs service facilities, along with the absence of clear feasibility studies based on in-depth research.
