"Monsha'at" Launches “Industry and Mineral Resources Pioneers Week” in Partnership with the Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources

The Small and Medium Enterprises General Authority “Monsha’at” organized the "Industry and Mineral Resources Pioneers week" last week in partnership with the Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources, in the presence of His Excellency the Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources, Mr. Bandar Ibrahim Alkhorayef, in SMEs support centers in the cities of Riyadh and Madinah, and the governorates of Jeddah and Al-Khobar. The "Industry and Mineral Resources Pioneers week" aims to raise awareness among owners of small and medium enterprises and entrepreneurs and introduce them to promising investment opportunities, by hosting a group of Their Highnesses and Excellencies in special dialogue sessions to talk about possible opportunities in the sector, in addition to enabling entities from the industry and leading names in the field. During the week, more than 36 meetings and workshops were held, in addition to the participation of 20 government and private entities, and the number of registered beneficiaries of the week's activities reached more than 1600 beneficiaries of entrepreneurs and owners of small and medium enterprises.  His Excellency the Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources, Mr. Bandar bin Ibrahim Alkhorayef, confirmed that 90% of the companies operating in the sector are small and medium enterprises, pointing out that entrepreneurial projects today play a key and pivotal role in the sector through various contributions. He added: "Industrial technical applications have proven useful in solving many of the problems of large industries because technologies are dependent on the efficiency of innovators and entrepreneurs. In the mining sector, we find proven technologies meet the needs of the sector in preserving mines, the environment, safety and productivity." The Vice President of Goods Exports at the Saudi Export Development Authority, Feras AL-Humidi, said that the Authority has several sectors, starting with consulting and training for all exporting enterprises. The second sector is export promotion and market entry, and this sector includes several different services, the most notable of which are international exhibitions. The third sector is the export environment, which works to find solutions to the obstacles facing enterprises in exporting locally and globally. Al-Humidi pointed out in his dialogue session that the "Saudi Made" program has become the unified identity of each Saudi product, as today it carries more than 12,000 products from various industries with the "Saudi Made" logo. “Today, we have 11,890 factories in the Kingdom, many of which produce building materials, food materials, packaging plants, petrochemical plants, and others,” he said.  Through the organization of specialized weeks, Monsha'at is keen to continue its supportive role to open horizons for small and medium enterprises, by cooperating with all partners to provide opportunities for entrepreneurs, which will contribute to achieving the growth goals of small and medium enterprises, ensuring their sustainability and growth.
