The Small and Medium Enterprises General Authority "Monsha’at" launched today the first session of " University Entrepreneurship Council", in the presence of a group of Their Excellencies, officials, presidents of public and private universities, representatives of entrepreneurship and innovation centers, and a number of representatives of the Ministry of Education, investment valleys and supporting government agencies.

The Council aims to promote entrepreneurship in Saudi universities, by analyzing and studying the current situation and discussing ways to spread the culture of entrepreneurship in the university environment and exchanging ideas and experiences that will support university entrepreneurship projects and activate their role in shaping and building the local economic system to achieve the objectives of the Kingdom's Vision 2030, as university entrepreneurship initiatives are supported by the National Transformation and Human Capability Development Programs.

The meeting included showcasing the best local and international university practices.

 In addition to, presenting, studying and analyzing opportunities and challenges with the aim of finding appropriate solutions to encourage and support integration in the roles represented by universities, investment valleys and entities supporting entrepreneurship in the public and private sectors, in order to empower entrepreneurs and owners of university startups.

This initiative comes within the framework of Monsha’at’s efforts to support and emphasize the entrepreneurial environment in the university sector in the Kingdom, with the aim of enabling and developing the Kingdom's economy, promoting sustainability in entrepreneurial projects, and addressing all the challenges that entrepreneurs may encounter, which enable them in the growth and expansion of their businesses.
