"Monsha’at" Honors the Winners of the "Artificial Intelligence in Umrah Competition" with Prizes Reaching up to Half a Million Saudi Riyals
The Small and Medium Enterprises General Authority "Monsha’at" honored the winners of the Artificial Intelligence in Umrah Competition with financial prizes reaching up to half a million Saudi riyals, in partnership with the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah, and several government and private entities. The aim is to contribute to increasing the number of emerging technology companies in the field of artificial intelligence and to address the challenges in the Umrah sector, in line with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030. The event was attended by the Deputy Governor of the Authority for the Entrepreneurship Sector, Saud Al-Sabhan, along with a number of specialists and experts in the field of technology, innovation and entrepreneurship. More than 1,500 startups from around the world participated in the competition to contribute innovative products in the Umrah sector. Out of these, 44 projects were qualified, with 304 projects in the crowd management track, followed by 250 projects in the open track, 245 projects in the communication track in pilgrims' languages, 234 projects in data management and statistics, and 159 projects in catering services. This aimed to enhance the quality of services provided to visitors in the Umrah sector. The winning projects will receive support for six months through a package of programs and services provided by the partners, including intensive consultations from specialized experts in artificial intelligence, dialogue sessions, and meetings. They will also be connected with providers of technical and digital services, and financial solution providers to review investment opportunities for those interested in entrepreneurship with technical expertise in the field of artificial intelligence, and support the entry of their pioneering projects into the market. Monsha’at provides, through the Intelligence Center, many specialized programs that support entrepreneurs and SMEs in various fields of artificial intelligence, data analysis, cybersecurity, and the Internet of Things across the Kingdom, in addition to enhancing the culture of innovation through technical support in building product prototypes, providing consultations, and access to the Innovation Lab. It also incorporates the nominated teams and provides workspaces after the completion of the prototypes, as well as enabling them to reach decision-makers and investment opportunities.
